Dr. Rafal Nowak, MD, PhD
Director of the Third Eye Project

 Ophthalmologist, traveler, III Dan karate black belt



Dr. Rafal Nowak has graduated from the Medical University of Poznan, Poland. Traveling has always been his passion. In 2005 and 2006, as a resident in ophthalmology, he spent 8 months volunteering in Nepal. He has taken part in numerous eye camps. In 2006, to extend his skills, he joined the Bombay City Eye Institute and Research Center in India for further microsurgical training.

 In 2009 and 2011 he received the SOE (European Society of Ophthalmology) grants to undergo practices at the Fundacion Oftalmologica del Mediterraneo, Valencia, Spain. In 2010 Dr. Nowak took part in the Tropical Ophthalmology Course at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. In 2014 he completed his PhD degree in ophthalmology.

Currently Dr. Nowak works at the Eye Department of the City Hospital, Poznan, Poland.
